Today was a long and tiring, but great day!
We started out the morning with group breakfast, then a short walk over to the Heian Jingu Shrine for a quick visit before we started our first day of official seminar classes in the Kyoto Budo Centre.
We had members from the Hombu board and other visiting master instructor from all over Japan working with us today. Seminars were taught in multiple styles of Karate, Kobudo, Jujutsu, Iaido, Kendo, and more from so many amazing and humble instructors that were more than happy to share their wonderful skills with all of the eager visiting participants of this week’s events.
After our first bento box lunch in the Budo Centre, we had a second round of seminars taught by a different set of master instructors of martial arts. Upon conclusion, the Canadian delegation had a quick demonstration preparation practice to ensure the entire country group can work and perform together as one smoothly operating unit
After dinner back at the hotel, some of us went out to the downtown shopping district to experience some of the modern Japanese culture, (and to do some shopping too!) look below for some pictures throughout the evening.
More to come tomorrow, we hope you are enjoying our trip updates!
