29th Annual Winter Training Festival: Feb 16-18

Prepare for an electrifying experience as the 29th Annual Winter Training Festival descends upon Kingston from February 16-18. Over 500 martial artists, ranging from novice enthusiasts to seasoned masters, will converge on the vibrant city for a weekend of empowerment, skill-building, and camaraderie.

This weekend will include:

  • Tameshigiri and Sword Fighting Techniques
  • Japanese tea ceremony
  • Bonus lectures
  • Meet with leading instructors across a range of martial arts styles
  • Separate youth event and tournament

Kicking off the festivities in spectacular fashion, the event will commence with a mesmerizing traditional Chinese Lion Dance performance. This captivating display of agility, strength, and discipline will set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. 

The youth segment promises a thrilling showcase as children aged 4-15 step into the spotlight, testing their mettle in sparring, kata, and weaponry. Renowned instructors from across the nation will adjudicate, providing invaluable insights and encouragement. 

For teenagers and adults, the weekend unfolds into a whirlwind of excitement with over 10 hours of immersive seminars, lectures, and training sessions. Delve into the art of Tameshigiri and Sword Fighting Techniques, experience the strength and expertise of champion MMA fighters, immerse yourself in the grace of a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, master Okinawan weaponry and karate, and brace yourself for an invigorating outdoor winter training session in Confederation Park on Sunday morning.
