Please read below for information on our recent closures over the past weekend.

On Sunday January 31st, while in opening and preparation for our annual New Year’s Eve class, a smokey haze filled one of our waiting rooms. The Kingston Fire Department was called, arrived quickly, and determined the reason behind it.

There was an electrical short in our main power breaker, which caused it to fault. Power was shut off to the building to prevent it from happening further, and we had electricians called in to help fix the issues, as there was no damage and/or fire to the building.

With it unfortunately happening over a holiday weekend, workers were hard to come across at that time with their holidays taking place, but were able to work on it all day yesterday to try to fix it. As of today (Wednesday), we are getting the power back to 100% anytime now, as the electricians finish their work replacing all of the main power units to the building.

We greatly apologize for the inconvenience of cancelling classes with such short notice, but our utmost importance was the safety and security of the building before any future classes could happen.

All of our regularly scheduled classes will resume this evening as we carry on into the New Year. Also, with the ‘Noon-Nen Keiko’ class missed due to the incident this past Sunday, we are making it up as a special class this evening at 7:15 for all Teen & Adult students (Karate, Kung-Fu, Kobudo, Jiu-Jitsu, and Iaido) of the dojo to attend.

We hope to see all of our students back tonight, this week, or within the next to help re-ignite the spirit, effort, and enthusiasm in our classes for 2018.
