Hey everyone! We hope that you had a great Family Day Long Weekend as we sure used it for some well needed rest!
Our 22nd Annual Winter Training Festival was this past weekend here in Kingston, held at The Ambassador Hotel, where over 200 students and instructors participated throughout the weekend. It was great to get a chance to see so many of our out-of-town visitors again for our yearly gathering.
Saturday morning held our “Karate Games” for our youth students as they practiced their skills such as highest kick and fastest punching. The afternoon was our first round of seminars taught by master-level instructor in various disciplines including Karate, Kung-Fu, Weaponry, and more!
Saturday evening was a formal banquet where we had a couple demonstrations by the Tallack Lion Dance Team, Kung-Fu class, and a slideshow video recapping our trip to Kyoto, Japan this past year. Then of course, the dance floor opened for everyone to socialize and dance the night away!
Sunday morning was the final round of seminars, then concluded with presentation by all participating schools, and students for various ranks of Black Belt Level in the DNBK.
We want to thank all of the students and instructors that travelled from near or far to attend the weekend, we could have not done it without your help and support! As well as all of the local businesses in Kingston that helped by donating great items for our raffle and silent auction tables throughout the weekend, raising funds for NPMA.
With classes back to their regular schedule as of today, we are looking forward to a few quiet weekends as we will not too far away be hosting the 11th Annual CKKA Gathering Weekend from Fri Mar 31 to Sun April 2 back here in Kingston.
All students that passed their belt testing in class last week will be presented their new rank when they attend class. Lastly, we will leave everyone with our quote of the day, have a great day everyone and see you at the dojo!
