Michael Gordanier, 2nd Dan

Michael started training at the age of 7 in September of 2004 at the Cataraqui Woods Elementary School Karate Kids Program. He received the rank of first-degree Black Belt (Shodan) in June of 2013, and the rank of second-degree Black Belt (Nidan) in June of 2015. He started training in Kung-Fu June of 2014 and received the rank of first-degree Black Sash in June of 2018.

Michael is currently an Instructor for the Children’s Advanced Programs, Teen Program, and assists with the Children’s Beginner classes. He is also the Instructor for the Loyalist Township Karate Kids Program and teaches at various Karate Kids Program schools throughout Kingston and surrounding area.

He attended the 2011 DNBK Second World Youth Butoku Sai & Canadian Butoku Sai held in Kingston, Ontario as well as the 5th and 8th Annual CKKA Gatherings held in Aurora and Kingston, Ontario, the March 2015 Youth Butoku Sai held in Virginia Beach, USA where he was recommended to the rank of second-degree Black Belt during the event.

He looks forward to travelling to Japan for the 6th World Butoku Sai in April of 2020.
